Firstly, I just realized that the Internet is begins in the 1960s, but not in the 1990s or even in the 2000s. I thought the advanced technology world is just start recently but not in my mother's period (1960s). It is really unbeliable at that time the Internet's field is already begins.
Secondly, without the instruction of counting how many violence scene in a cartoon's show by the teacher, I have no idea nowsday the cartoon's show is prone to more and more violence and no longer in a fantasy and pure element but a series of bad and violence behaviours shown in the cartoon's show which is easily shape the children 's mind and development spiritually.
Thirdly, after watching Bowling for Columbine, I felt so shocked that buying a gun is legal and even the society and the governoment allow the banks to open an acoount for the public to get a gun in lights of protect themselves. I just cant imagine a country like that because most of the country I visited in my life, i have never heard of this ' ridiculous' event in a certain extent. This made me broaden my horizons and i realized different parts of the world is just so different.

This media law case from 2009 is described the Bulgarian company Economedia and the Re : TV have filed a copy rights case against the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) .
The media claims that the BSP used materials without the permission of either two sides which is the newspaper Kapital and the Re.
It is no wonder there got this simliar case in this changing world with the popularity of the media field. As we all known that using something without other permission is not good and in the business field's perspective, this is called illegal but business men, espcially the newcomers may not familiar the policy of the media law always make this mistakes. Therefore, I think the government should keep an eyes on that and advertise the content of the media law to the public in hops of the public and the business men know about that.

Two Propaganda techniques as follow,
Appeal to authority: Appeals to authority cite prominent figures to support a position, idea, argument, or course of action.
In this parody they put the young man with a beautiful and good facial shape in the ad start eating a ton of fast food . The more he eat, the more fat image is coming up. Then after the fat image is developed from a thin and handsome image, they also use Photoshop to make the result of eating too much, the fat and ugly image more outstanding (the whole image) . In order to emphasis the extreme consequence of over eating, the young man image should need a group of professional Photoshop users to add strong effect on the fat and ugly image on the ad.
Beautiful people : Beautiful people is stands for the type of propaganda that deals with famous people or depicts attractive, happy people. This makes other people think that if they buy a product or follow a certain ideology, they too will be happy or successful. (This is more used in advertising for products, instead of political reasons)
The man with a handsome looking face finally turns out to be a fat ugly old man owing to the overeating habits on the billboard they use a beautiful young handsome boy as an image to catch our attentions and the ugly side of this young man when he is in a overeating habits. After watching a half hour news show on television, the stories reported and ads aired in order in the following.

2) Trade to highlight Obama’s China visit 5:30
3) 5 things China can teach us 3:50
4) Ad on the coffee for Christmas special 1:05
5) Going vegetarian on Thankgiving 7:00

In this half-hour news, the actual time devoted to news is quite in a majority which is approximately 27 minutes over 30 minutes.
Among these story news, I think the lead story is the ‘’Going vegetarian on Thankgiving’ because Thankgiving day is coming and the media is going to put main focus on that.
The anchors having a positive and strong passion attitude in reporting the Thankgiving news. The voice is loud with happy tone which is set the match tone in reporting this traditional American festival is coming. And the facial expression is also with a lot simile together with the laughing tone.

Week 7 : Internet
I found 11,743 resulted for ‘ social working websites on ‘Wikipedia.org. The sites I have heard of in this searching range from facebook, myspace to twitter, and fridenster. The one I know for social working websites that have not listed here is called xanga which is a blog sharing an online dairy , sharing your personal feelings and events with your friends and a space for them to leave a comment for you. I use xanga as a social networking to keep in touch with my friends and my parents, especially now I am study abroad now. We can hardly call each other because of the different time zone and this social networking sites can bridge a closer relationship with them thought the long distance from Hong Kong and the US. Morover, I also use facebook to keep my friends and parents updated uploading my recent photos visually.
Therefore, I use social networking sites is to keep in touch with my beloved one in a long distance . When the time I havent got a cell phone in the US, I only use either xanga or facebook to keep in touch with my parents for 2 months and really help me get rid of loneliness .
Apart from this, a friend I havent seen her for more than 10 years since middle school and I found her in facebook by typing her real name and we now can keep in the US and when I need help in the US with a car, she is the one gave me a ride searching for a room on craiglist and drove me to see and now I have a very good condition and location advantages with that room because is just 10 minutes away from school.

Week 5 : Movies or Recordings
My favorite movie of 2009 is the 3D cartoon- UP. I first watched it in a cinema with my friends during April. To me, this cartoon movies is a bit different from others since it really bring a message to the audience – about love and care via the communication between the elderly and the kids and the couple.
With the amazing visual effects, sound and the breath taking action in this movies made it ‘s story more appealing and emphasis the message the director want to bring out. Another reason made me in fond of this movie is that this movie is successfully entertain both the youth and the elderly and made you laugh from your deep heart in some scene with the sense of meaning message. All in all, it remind me the important element in leading a good life is love and care and there no barriers between people with different ages and different space ( because the man’s wife is gone and left the man alone ) only if you got the sense of love and sense of dream.

Week 4 : Magazines
If I am going to write a proposal for a new magazine, I would focus specifically on the topic of overseas study in community college for international students.
1.Name : Therefore, the name of magazine is ‘’ lives in the US’s community college. The motive of creating this name is to focus on the lives in community college but not 4 years university.
2.Concept :There are a myriad of this kind of magazine offer on the market for international students and who interested in furthering their studies in the US. It is not hard for you to find the books all related to the lives and tips in 4 years university in the US yet you can hardly find a magazine just focus on those who didn’t first attend 4 year colleges but 2 years college. In other words, my concept in my magazine is to focus on the lives in community college which is very different from the 4 year university’s and strategies to transfer successfully for international students since there not much detail information for how to ‘add or drop class’’, what is ‘’withdraw’’ means, ‘’ how to fulfill every different school’s requirement within 2 years.
3.Readers : The readers mostly for those who intended to study in community college and plan to transfer and their parents. With the popularity studying overseas in the US worldwide, the demography is quite large.
-The age group mostly for those 17-23 who are as an international student study in community college.
-The gender is male and female including teenagers and their parents (adults).
-The ethnicity : As I mention studying abroad is always a trend for the whole world, so this magazine is no limitation in the ethnicity and it s welcome to all who interested in attending community college in the US.
-The income level: it main focus on overseas study so one who able to study abroad must at least in the middle level background (financial) in order to support the expensive tuition fee.
-The interests : Interest in studying in the US in the community college first but not directly study in a 4 year university
-The self image : Reader should have the motive to know about how the US educational system run and want to be succeed to get a degree .
Finally, the psychograph part is that the reader want to avoid making mistake and deleting their transfer plan.
4.The other magazine :The only subtitle of this magazine is the study oversea’s magazine published by a voluntary company called Institute of international Education like Study America 2009’’, ‘’ US Higher Education Fair ‘’

Fourth, car company may also want to reach my readers because without a car in a particular region in the US is very inconvenient .
Lastly, Scholarship company may want to approach my readers in order to grasp more intelligent student abroad and the Insurance company.

Week 3- Books
Since the time I can read and write, there are three books that deep into my mind and have great impact on my life and solid my value towards life as follows :
1) How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie :
I think most of us would like to have a good social networking and friends around us . Yet, this book have strong impact on me maybe I come form a single family and an only child, I have less chance to communicate with people and in a certain sense I don’t know how to get along with people and sometimes hurt them with no intention.
I admitted that I am a quite pessimistic person and always strive for perfect like hoping to win all the friends around me which is impossible. Therefore, by reading this book, it made me realize that in life we are not necessary to win all the friends because we all not the same, just do our best to everyone, if people aint like us, it fine only if we can find the group which belong to your world.
All in all, this book somehow teaching you the knowledge of being a human , an attitude communicate to people which is useful for the rest of our life, especially when we come out and work in society.

2) It’s not the end of the world by Judy Blume :
I immediately bought this book when I glanced the world ‘’divorce’’at the back of the book in my high school’s book fair. As I mention above, I come from a single family and really got a great impact from my parents , of course there are pros and cons. I come to realize and when time flies together with reading this book, my hatred towards my father and the attitude towards the step father is no longer existed now. This book inspired me that children coming from single family is inevitable going through this inner mind and emotion and the words from this author is exactly read my mind.
It inspires me that life not always going to the path you wanted and expected. If the environment you cant change, the thing you can only change is your attitude and adapt the environment. I come to be more open minded and enjoy the moment I have in this step father relationship and the relationship between my father and I. Once they got old and leave me, there no more chance for you to treat them good . Therefore, it inspire me treasure the moment I have now, especially for my father. I am happy I am more lucky to have the chance to see my father thought the relationship is just like normal friend but it ‘s ok for me. Everyone ‘s life is different so don’t compare others and treasure the moment you have!

3) Seabiscuit : Am American Legend by Laura Hillenbrand
I like reading inspiration true story and this is a story that made me cried at the end. This is a book about the racehorse Seabiscuit in a riveting tale of grit, grace ,luck and an underdog’s stubborn determination. Sometimes we will lose the sense of determination towards success in the process, but this story always remind us that determination is always the key to success even though there are a lot of unfavorable factors around us.
Legend is always possible if you got this sense.

Week 2 : Media Impact
I would like to propose a media research project related to the topic ‘’ the impact of watching violent movies or TV shows to children’’. To see the level of impact on the children after watching the violent movies, I will get two group of children, which usually from aged 8 to 13, one watching violent movies and one watching cartoon movies like ‘’up’’. The method I am using called laboratory experiment ( scientific method of isolating and observing variables in a controlled environment) .
After these two groups watching different type of movies, I will let them group together and giving time for them to play toys, chatting around and watch a cartoon TV shows together. After grouping them together, it told me the children who watched violent movies is more aggressive , outgoing than did the children who watch cartoon movie’’up’’ When they group together watching a cartoon movie. Children who watched ‘’up’’ tend to be more lovely, innocent and pure with their laugh while the children who watched violent movie prone to be more numb and found it not interesting in watching it.
Besides this, when playing toys, the attitude in playing the toys is also more violent for those who watched violent movie is more aggressive than their counterparts.
By grouping them to watch the cartoon movies, this is a project based on selective perception method . It is because children interpret different attitudes and expression from the same activity and message. Week 1 : Media Autobiography
Without a shadow of doubt, everyone is growing up with at least two media and among these, these media indirectly portray one’s personality and hobbies and so on so forth.
Among the eight types of mass media we are studying in this class, I like movies, television and books the most. These three media can be said affected my life so far.
I like watching movies because mostly the plot of the movies is always tend to be perfect and the scene that people wish to be happened in reality. One of the most influence and deep into my mind is called ‘’ Amageddon’’ which is originated a science movies. Yet, figuratively , it ‘s bring a message about the unconditional love from our parents. A father going to sacrifice himself to save the world and at that moment his daughter treasure him and cried like hell. I cried and this scene had touched my heart since I coming from a single family and I hate my father a lot. After viewing this movie, it made me realized that having an attitude ‘’let it be’’ is always good for us and you will live better spiritually. This media form really keep me company all the time and affect me a lot . What I can say is if you watch movies with a sense of learning and explore to the figurative meaning, it will gradually build up your value of life and affect you to a largest extent.
Since I am a only child and grow up in an environment that hardly meet new friends, these factors force me to change from an inactive people into a very outgoing people. Therefore, whenever I met people, I will definitely take the initiative to talk with them. The more older I am, I more I understand how important having a good social network in one’s life. Therefore, I chose communication as my major which is a major I think can help me a lot in my rest of my life. I always believe that one’s success is not just by their own. Of course with talent and work hard is also a key to success. Yet, without a good social skills, communication skills , interpersonal skills , you can hardly survive in this competitive world. Therefore, I plan to involved in this field after I graduate and become my career. I am not sure what I am going to be after graduation, but one thing for sure

The dream school I want to get into is UCLA, so far I think is the best school for communication major. After getting in communication major in ucla, you can have a choice to get into a stream called interpersonal communication major. But for UC Berkeley, its only got media studies. I am sure I can earn a lot from UCLA. The environment around the school is just fabulous . The environment place is just so important to students. Among these two schools, I hope I can get into UCLA and focus on interpersonal aspect which is much more useful in my future career.
Without a shadow of doubt, everyone is growing up with at least two media and among these, these media indirectly portray one’s personality and hobbies and so on so forth.
Among the eight types of mass media we are studying in this class, I like movies, television and books the most. These three media can be said affected my life so far.
I like watching movies because mostly the plot of the movies is always tend to be perfect and the scene that people wish to be happened in reality. One of the most influence and deep into my mind is called ‘’ Amageddon’’ which is originated a science movies. Yet, figuratively , it ‘s bring a message about the unconditional love from our parents. A father going to sacrifice himself to save the world and at that moment his daughter treasure him and cried like hell. I cried and this scene had touched my heart since I coming from a single family and I hate my father a lot. After viewing this movie, it made me realized that having an attitude ‘’let it be’’ is always good for us and you will live better spiritually. This media form really keep me company all the time and affect me a lot . What I can say is if you watch movies with a sense of learning and explore to the figurative meaning, it will gradually build up your value of life and affect you to a largest extent.
Since I am a only child and grow up in an environment that hardly meet new friends, these factors force me to change from an inactive people into a very outgoing people. Therefore, whenever I met people, I will definitely take the initiative to talk with them. The more older I am, I more I understand how important having a good social network in one’s life. Therefore, I chose communication as my major which is a major I think can help me a lot in my rest of my life. I always believe that one’s success is not just by their own. Of course with talent and work hard is also a key to success. Yet, without a good social skills, communication skills , interpersonal skills , you can hardly survive in this competitive world. Therefore, I plan to involved in this field after I graduate and become my career. I am not sure what I am going to be after graduation, but one thing for sure
